A Little Levity While We Search for Billy Joel . . .

We are in Allentown, Pennsylvania this weekend – hence the Billy Joel reference.  And if you are, too (or anyplace else nearby), plan to come out and see us at the Allentown Fairgrounds this weekend (Saturday 10:00-5:00, Sunday 11:00-4:00).  And bring along a cooler so you can load up at the Farmers’ Market across the parking lot – good stuff.

Drove through a day of pouring rain to get here.  Took a break a couple of times to explore Kohl’s clearance racks in search of fashions for next winter.  Got a $54 sweater and a $42 sweater – both were 90% off and I had a coupon for an additional 15%.  Set me back a little over eight bucks . . .

So after a long day on the road, it’s always nice to drop my luggage in the room and settle in.  But it's a pretty safe bet that your hotel has seen better days when you discover one of these in the bathroom . . .

  1. nice pic. i love these little old places... the clean ones, that is. and they are usually a lot more reasonable and off the beaten path. no sense in paying for all kinds of fancy extras that you don't use anyway. the photo looks like the place is okay. lots of people still use these openers, as it hurts their hands to twist off the caps.

  2. Now, Greg, we could assume this is a very high end, swank place--after all, many imported beers still require a "church key"!
