Karen called me this morning. She got home from the hospital late yesterday afternoon. Her lifestyle is usually as hectic as mine, so she's already worried about getting antsy since the doctor ordered her to stay away from work until the 16th. But she is feeling better and getting around without help (though she did pull her mother-in-law's old cane out of the closet to carry around for a while in case she needs it).
She called to ask me to post a note of thanks from her for the prayers, flowers, and the absolute mountain of handmade cards she has received. A nurse told her they had run out of window space for flowers, and had never seen so many cards that had obviously been made lovingly by hand.
Sometimes it takes an episode like this to see how many lives you have touched. Thanks so much to all of you for your support and encouragement. You're the best . . .
