A Question for the Masses . . .

We were having a conversation at the store earlier this afternoon – part of it originated from inquiries received after last week’s post about the winners of a couple of card-creating contests (say that three times fast) during the Fall Fest.  Several of you wanted to know about the stamps or other materials used in one card or another.  We have rarely done this sort of thing in the past, but . . .

Here are two cards (as examples only) that will be Make & Take projects in the store during the next week.  Is there any interest out there in posting such projects online or on the blog with pictures and instructions – perhaps even with kits for sale so you could make the exact same card at home?

Your feedback would be appreciated – thanks!

  1. I personally love seeing examples online. When I see one I like I always follow it to the instructions and materials list (including die cuts, stamps, inks and, of course, paper). Sometimes I can make something similar with what I have, sometimes I just HAVE to have the exact products to reproduce the card/project. Yes, I think posting these kinds of projects will benefit us AND you!

  2. I think it's a great idea and kits for sale!! With Archivers gone, there isn't a place for card classes and such anymore. All Denver has is Hobby Lobby and Michaels.......that pretty well says it all.

    1. Wow! I live in Grand Junction and even we have those two! I would have thought Denver would have way more options.

  3. I love kits and have thought you should do them. Maybe one a month of the previous month's cards. I do that locally (or did until they closed) of classes I could not make the drive for. But Marco's is a whole day drive from me. I would love kits!

  4. Yes, I would definitely be interested. I am not always available for a particular Make It-Take It and would like to be able to make the card at my leisure.

  5. I would love to have projects posted online! I used to subscribe to a few paper crafting magazines but these days I get most of my inspiration from the internet and I'm quite sure that your projects would be wonderful.

  8. Projects with instructions and supply lists would be awesome!! You can put icons below each item that lead us to the item on your website so we could purchase them easier :) (similar to tim holtz's blog posts at the end)

  9. Yes, I would very much like at the minimum to have the brands/names of the stamps, embossing folders, and dies used. Kits would be nice too especially if available by mail. Yea Marco's. Very customer oriented.

  10. I buy almost everything online from 3-4 favorite sites (yours being one of them) and would love to have this done. Even if I do not follow the card exactly I may buy many of the components to make my own variation. Cannot thank you enough for your preordering sales! Thanks!

  14. I'm another person who would love to see instructions for your make it - take its online. Since I live in Washington, PA it's a little hard for me to drop in at the store. A supply list would be nice and a kit would be even better. Thanks for asking.

  16. I agree with all of the above posts.. Too far a drive for me to attend your Make & Takes, but would LOVE to see a supply list, and/or kits to make some of your FAB cards!

  17. I think that is a great idea. Usually, the make and takes are easy enough to be duplicated many times which makes them great for holiday cards.

  22. No, not for me. I enjoy seeing the samples but do not have a die cutting machine. Nor do I have any interest in having one. I prefer rubber stamps, inks, embossing, college. etc.

  24. Absolutely, positively, yes ! ! ! ! What a good idea. I love that. This would also tend to have more folks check your website more often. Wanting to see the card(s of the week. I know I would. I also like the idea of a kit..... Once we knew what the card was made of, we could order more supplies and/or more kits!! I like the way you think. Now that I have your attention, what was used in the (Joy) card? Embossing folders? Who's?? Thanks for thinking about this. I always enjoy going to your site and getting a few things. This would make the experience even better. Thanks for asking.

  25. Wonderful idea. Just found out today that our last local store is closing. So sad. Michael's and Hobby Lobby just don't have what I need or want.

  26. I would, also, be interested in what you have as a make and take it card. I'm interested in the instructions and what ever supplies it takes to make one of these cards. I'm not always available to be at your store, even though I live very close.
