Karen called me about 11:15 last night. This is not a time when I am usually coherent, and I was prepared to be just a little bit snippy when I answered the phone. But this was no ordinary phone call – Karen was flying high and needed no airplane. Her lifelong dream had come true – she and David are grandparents. Their son and daughter-in-law (Scott and Alexis) welcomed their son into the world about 9:15 Friday evening. First child, and less than three hours of labor – amazing! No particulars yet, but all are doing well. Pictures and vitals will follow when they’re available.

Aren't babies grand!!!! I just found out this week I am gonna be a gramma again on Halloween! My favorite holiday and my son's, who has wanted to be a daddy since he was 5 and stole his sister's dolls. HE is MY baby at 33 next week, so we are happy to finally see his dream coming true. I am so glad it isn't my gdaughter of 20. I told her, wait a while. Live a lot and then you will be ready. Long time since I held a baby. I need to find some to practice on. Tell Karen I hope every dream she ever had of gramma is exactly how it should be.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Karen! I'm very happy for her.
