Sunny Project for a Rainy Day . . .

Greetings from rainy Allentown, Pennsylvania. The truck and I got here last night, and we'll start setup for this weekend's show in about an hour. I'm still not up to full speed (those who have had this bug before say it lasts about a week, but it takes up to two more to get completely over it), but I feel infinitely better than I did earlier this week.

Following is the Make It & Take It that was held in our store last Saturday. I thought it was going to be held again on Wednesday, but found out later that a different project was done then. I'm learning . . .



At left is the finished product. At right is what you'll need to create it -- a piece of 5 1/2" x 8" hot pink cardstock, a piece of 3 3/4" x 5 1/4" black cardstock and a piece of 3 3/4" x 5 1/4" white textweight, a piece of 3 1/2" x 5" white cardstock, a scrap of white cardstock around 4" x 4", two sponges, scissors, a glue pen, glitter, black, raspberry, and orange inkpads, pop dots, a word stamp (for the word at lower right), a Greenbrier International Sun Stamp, and an 8 1/2" x 11" scrap sheet of white paper.



Take the 8 1/2" x 11" white scrap and tear two 1 1/2" to 2" strips, then lay them diagonally across the 3 1/2" x 5" white cardstock.



Hold the strips in place (or have someone else do it), and sponge the entire card with raspberry ink. Then get another sponge and repeat the process with orange ink.



Remove the scrap strips and stamp the word stamp in the lower right with the black inkpad.



Sponge the 4" white scrap with both raspberry and orange inks (randomly or in stripes -- it's up to you). Then use black ink to stamp the sun image four times on the scrap.



Put the long strips back on your card and randomly stamp the sun image as shown.



Use scissors to cut around the edges of all four of the images you stamped on the scrap and arrange them to form the sun.



Use the glue pen on the large circles on the sun image and add glitter.



You can do the same with your four-piece sun. Then use pop-dots to attach the sun to your card.

Then fold the hot pink cardstock in half, and layer the black cardstock and your decorative piece on top, and paste the white textweight sheet on the inside for a writing surface. All done!
